First of all, thanks to everyone for the kind words and support of Selkie-Boy. It feels good to have a finished zine out there in the world.
SAWgust is over, and Inktober isn't till next month, so I have set my own project for September. I have had this never-used pad of 5" x 17" comic strip boards, ruled for 4" x 13" images, for like forever. I am going to to use it to do a series of three-panel strips involving characters based on figures from my D&D miniatures collection.I will choose a different mini for each strip and show them transferring an object through different environments. The narrative will be simplistic at best, but really the point is to practice sequencing, backgrounds, shading/hatching, and character consistency.
There are 14 boards in the pad so I won't necessarily be working as fast as SAWgust, and I will share finished strips here as I do them.
After completing the first strip, I am realizing how hard it is to get narrative int three panels... this will be a good exercise in conciseness.
As Selkie's little robot hamster toy used to say... here we go!
