The Aeniad (sic)
So, I was going through some materials to teach an optional lesson in my multi-modal composition class, and I ran across a ini-comic I made some years ago as part of a class I was taking. I thought it might work as a webcomic, too, so I cropped and bordered it and here it is:

Maybe a buffalo crashed through his window...
I was talking about bison-themed superheroes yesterday in a post on He is is a Thark. While I was in my game design class, I sketched out these figures of Bison-Man, or Super-Buffalo, or Dark Buffalo, or whoever he is. I offer them in the sprit of posting all my crap until it isn't crap anymore.

End of summer selfie
I don't know why when I was modeling for myself inside my head that I struck such a dramatic pose. This self-portrait has my new glasses and my new shoes, and I photoshopped in my new tattoo. Pretty artsy, hunh?
Thanks for hanging in through what turned out to be a sparse summer. We'll see what fall holds!

Back in the saddle
After my rumination about the Gap Probelm and its effect on my drawing, I knew I had to post something just to break the logjam of my Inner Critic and get the stream moving again. So, here is a sketch I made last night of pal John and pal Joel at a DM summit we held in a diner:
To be fair: Joel did not actually stab at John with his knife like that. It was more of an underhand jab, but that was harder to draw. And pal Luke was there, but he was sitting next to me, so he's not in the sketch.

At this rate, I'll be done in a year and a half...
So, I had some technical difficulties: the pen I had grown used to using and the new paper I bought were not compatible and caused some blotting issues, so I had to get new pens. I'm still not sure which program to use to do the the digital finishing, since I don't have Photoshop. I have been playing with Pixlr and Graphic Converter, but I need something else. I also have to fiddle with scanning, since the black & white setting is still giving kind of grayscale. Oh yeah - I need to get better at drawing, too.
In any case, page 2 is a bit rough, but I am calling it finished.

Thunor, the hipster pixie
Yeah, I know some spells, but they're pretty obscure, you've probably never heard of them.
I used to use pixie dust but now it's so mainstream...

On the eleventh day of Newton: minny me!
So, I can't predict all of what 2014 will bring, but I know it will include gaming, and gaming means character miniatures, or figs, or what Coco would calls a "minny." I'll be taking my first swipe at actually painting a miniature this year, and until that's ready to go, here's a sketch I made of one of my characters during a game ages ago:
Kioska, fourth-level druid
That's what an unpainted fig would look like: here's another sketch of Kioska, colored to look like it was painted:
I'll post a real painted minny when it's ready.
